Our Instructors

KMG-Certified Krav Maga Instructors, Auckland.

Instructor Aaron and Instructor Brad are both KMG-certified, with direct training under Master Eyal Yanilov — the founder of Krav Maga Global. They've been teaching practical self-defence to adults on Auckland's North Shore since 2015.

KMG certification isn't a one-off qualification — it's an ongoing international standard. Both instructors train regularly with KMG's top instructors at camps in Israel, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, which is how the curriculum you learn stays current and authentic.

Aaron Moore, Head Instructor and KMG New Zealand Director, Krav Maga Auckland

Aaron Moore

Expert Level 2 · Head Instructor · KMG NZ Director

Aaron has been teaching Krav Maga since 2010, certified by KMG in the UK after earlier training in karate (black belt) and five years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Carlson Gracie's London club.

He ran Dynamic Krav Maga in London from 2010 to 2015, then returned to New Zealand and founded Krav Maga Auckland — the first KMG-affiliated club in the country. He also serves as KMG New Zealand Director, overseeing national affiliate clubs.

Aaron holds Expert Level 2 in the KMG system. His ongoing training takes him directly to the top: 17+ international KMG camps with Master Eyal Yanilov — 7 in Israel, 5 in the UK, 3 in Australia, and 2 in New Zealand. That's how the curriculum taught at Krav Maga Auckland stays aligned with the international KMG standard.

How KMG Works

Why KMG Certification Matters.

Krav Maga Global is the leading international Krav Maga organisation, used by certified instructors in more than 60 countries. Certification isn't a one-off achievement — it's a living standard maintained through continuous training and direct contact with the most senior instructors in the system.

01

One international curriculum

KMG teaches the same structured curriculum in every country. The Practitioner through Master grading system is internationally recognised, which means your training here is the same standard you'd get at KMG clubs anywhere in the world.

02

Direct lineage to the source

Eyal Yanilov is the primary student of Imi Lichtenfeld — the founder of Krav Maga. Both instructors at Krav Maga Auckland train directly with Eyal at international camps, so the techniques you learn come straight from the top of the system.

03

Ongoing instructor development

Certification requires regular attendance at international KMG camps. That's how standards stay consistent and techniques stay current. It's also why you can rely on what you're learning now still being valid a decade from now.

Common Questions

Questions People Ask About the Instructors.

Certified Krav Maga instructors complete the KMG General Instructor Course (GIC) — a rigorous programme run by Krav Maga Global. The GIC certifies instructors to teach the civilian curriculum to an internationally recognised standard. Both instructors at Krav Maga Auckland have completed the GIC and continue training at international KMG camps to maintain certification.

Eyal Yanilov is the founder of Krav Maga Global and the most senior Krav Maga instructor in the world. He was the primary student of Imi Lichtenfeld, the founder of Krav Maga itself. Eyal holds Master Level 3 (M3) and has led the development of the KMG civilian curriculum since KMG's founding. Both instructors at Krav Maga Auckland have trained directly with him at international camps.

Aaron holds Expert Level 2 (E2) in the KMG civilian curriculum. Brad holds Graduate Level 2 (G2). The KMG system progresses from Practitioner (P1–P5) through Graduate (G1–G5), Expert (E1–E5), and Master levels — a structured international grading used in over 60 countries.

KMG certification is an ongoing commitment, not a one-off qualification. Instructors are required to attend international KMG camps regularly to stay current with curriculum updates and maintain their teaching grade. Aaron has attended more than 17 international camps with Master Eyal Yanilov across Israel, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

Private sessions are available by arrangement, subject to instructor availability. Most training happens in group classes, which are structured to give each student personal attention and clear progression. If you're interested in a private session, the best starting point is to come to a trial class first so the instructor can understand your goals.
