Welcome to "P1 success"
This page has information to support your progression to Practitioner 1 level (P1). This is the first level of our international curriculum.
So what will I learn?
The first level of the curriculum is designed for you to:
Further down this page you can flick through the Practitioner 1 curriculum to have a look at the material we will be covering. At first it might look a bit daunting - don't worry. We will cover this in class and you'll be surprised how quickly we cover the material .
If you are coming regularly (2 or more classes a week) you should develop a good level in the material and will be eligible in 4-6 months to "test" for your level diploma (>40 classes). This essentially is a review of the material from end-to-end to demonstrate your knowledge of the techniques and tactics.
What Gear do I Need?
Uniform:
- KMG Tee-shirt
- Black shorts (ideally official KMG shorts) or active wear (women)
- Clean gym shoes (preferably with a flattish sole)
Safety Gear:
- Groin protection
- Shin protection (martial arts type / not football/cricket/hockey pads)
- Boxing gloves (16oz)
- Gum shield (recommended)
- MMA gloves (recommended)
Other Tips for Being Successful?
- Come to class regularly (at least twice a week on average)
- Make sure you have your next available testing date in your diary
- Keep track of what you have covered in class (I'll be sending out an email each week on what we covered, but become familiar with the curriculum and the names of the techniques so you. know if you have gaps).
- Ask me questions!
