Do I need to be Fit to Start?
No, getting fitter is a great reason to start Krav Maga.
Is Krav Maga Suitable for Women?
Absolutely. Krav Maga is designed so a smaller person can successfully defend themselves against a larger or stronger person. We have around 40% female membership who thoroughly enjoy the classes and a top female instructor.
Will I get injured?
Krav Maga involves some contact but we make all endeavours to run the classes as safely as possible to minimise the possibility of injury. There is no competitive sparing at the beginners levels and all hard striking is very controlled using pads.
How much do the classes cost?
We offer a 2 class trial for $15. If you enjoy the classes you can join as a member $16 per week for 1-class and $20 per week for unlimited classes.
Do I need equipment for my first class?
No... just wear standard gym gear.
Do you have a syllabus and gradings
Yes. You will learn the Krav Maga Global civilian syllabus. This has been tried and tested over many decades and is taught in over 60 countries. It has many levels and with regular training you will have the opportunity to do gradings around every 6-months in order to test your knowledge and ability for your level of the syll abus.
How long does it take to get good at Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is relatively quick to learn. In fact you will learn things even in your first class you could put into practice straight away. It takes about 6-months to learn the first level of the syllabus which will give you the skills to defend yourself in a wide range of common situations should you ever need to use it.
Can I train at any location as a member?
