Krav Maga is the most effective and fastest way for you to learn how to protect yourself. It is a comprehensive system of tried and tested techniques and tactics that are practical and effective for all women.
You don't need size or strength it is based on counter attacks to vulnerable parts of the attacker's body. Its relatively quick to learn as the techniques and movements are based on natural body movements and designed to be simple to do and remember.
While some people consider it to be a martial art, it does not have any traditional elements. We train in regular clothes, there is no formality and classes are fast, dynamic and fun.
Krav Maga classes includes dynamic games, partner and group drills such as seen in boxing fitness classes, combined with unique Krav Maga self defence techniques.
Hopefully you will never need to use Krav Maga but sadly we still live in a society where assault is common. Moreover, New Zealanders are great travellers and you are always vulnerable in unfamiliar countries. The physical and emotional impact can be devastating.
Krav Maga is practical and comprehensive providing you with techniques and tactics to stay safe in most situations. It doesn't make you invincible but greatly increases your chances of avoiding the worst consequences.
However, our classes are fast and dynamic so you'll get fit and have fun in addition to learning essential skills.

We have classes in Auckland Central, North Shore and South East. These are mixed classes and we have lots of female members and Pavlina (pictured) is one of our instructors.
Beginners are welcome and you will find members very welcoming. Instructors very approachable and sensitive to making you feel comfortable and informed when you come to try a class.
There are two ways to get started:

There are 2 classes per week to chose from at each of our locations.

2-hr intro class just for beginners covering the basics of Krav Maga.
This class runs 1 x per month at our Birkenhead Krav Maga Gym on a Sat afternoon. Afterwards you are ready to progress to regular classes at any of our 3-locations.
